Sarah Callaghan

Chair

Sarah has worked in Senior Management roles at Cancer Research UK since February 2015. Prior to this, she spent 4 years at the Patient Client Council and was a founding member of NIRDP in 2012.

As Senior Patient Relations and Engagement Manager at CRUK, she led the creation and development of their new Involvement network, now one of the largest and most successful in the charity sector. For 5 years, Sarah had oversight and overall responsibility of all aspects that come with running a successful network – from recruitment, engagement and communications, to developing the governance and processes which underpin it. This included leading the development and implementation of CRM and digital tools enabling CRUK to build deeper relationships with people affected by cancer through excellent, personalised journeys.

In the past 2 years, Sarah has worked as a Senior Manager in the Cancer Intelligence team, leading her team through two pandemic related consultations and change processes, developed new ways of working and teams and led on the expansion of the Trusted Research Environment (Infrastructure), an important component in the new CRUK Research Data Strategy.

Currently, Sarah is a Senior Change Manager, working on a cross charity piece of work to develop and implement a new CRM system. In this role, Sarah is responsible for ensuring the system meets the needs of teams due to transition and that the system will enable digital transformation in how CRUK interacts, engages with and supports its 18 million supporters. She also holds a broad knowledge of fundraising and marketing activities, including integrated campaigns, KPIS and brand awareness.
